THERE will be more than 10 times the number of electric car charging points as petrol stations by 2020 – and that’s just one of the planned networks. According to POD Point CEO Erik Fairbairn, the conditions are beginning to emerge to allow electric and plug-in hybrid cars to flourish, leading to an explosion in charge point installations in the coming years that could top 100,000 just in POD Point’s own infrastructure. There are currently fewer than 9,000 petrol stations on British roads.
Jaguar XKR-S - playing at Goodwood ahead of the FoS
It’s really quite hard to put the new Jaguar XKR-S in a pigeon hole. You see, it’s not really an out and out supercar – and it doesn’t sport the price tag of one either – but it’s more than just a competent GT car; better than ‘just’ a continent-crusher. In fact, as we’ve already noted, it seems to have the measure of the Aston Martin DBS – but at half the price.

Hyundai today issued this pair of design renderings of the new i20, revealing a supermini with even more aspirations to be German. With shades of mini Golf in both the front and rear design sketches, the new 2015 Hyundai i20 looks more European than ever. This, of course, should come as no surprise, since the new i20 has been styled at Hyundai Motor’s Design Centre Europe in Rüsselsheim, Germany.
